This project is still being finalised but I wanted to upload them here as I'm really happy with how they're looking so far! Despite their cheerful appearance these are actually kidnapped kitties illustrated for a background for a double page spread aimed at children. The concept is that SuperCat has to rescue them from the kidnapper who has made them work in his underground lair. I love the innocence of the cat operating the pneumatic drill!

The Cat Illustrations pt3
Sticking with my new obsession with watercolours I illustrated the latest 'Making Memories' article (top) in this style. I decided that my usual technique of pens and photoshop worked better for the 'Reader's Story' article (bottom) where an aged, almost sad feel was needed.
Tom Cox Illustration
I really enjoyed illustrating this story. It was about the real life situation where some cats were rescued from a burning house and had to be treated for smoke inhalation. I wanted to show how small and fragile the cat was in the arms of the buff fireman. The original drawing was produced with watercolours but a vector version was also made so there was a choice for the layout.
Typeface experiments
These are a series of typefaces I designed when pitching for the redesign of The Cat magazine. I wanted to create a new masthead with a unique personalised font that could be used throughout the magazine. My personal favourite is the bottom right face, Cho, although I like the playfulness of the top left called Docking.
The Cat Illustrations pt2
The second set of illustrations for The Cat magazine. First is for a story about a girl who blames herself for her cats death (uplifting I know!) and the second is about a witch who flees her village to avoid persecution.
CP Annual Review 07
Annual Review time again and since last year's was such a success, we decided to stick to the A2 poster format.
'Kit-E-Mail' Flyer Illustration
Cats Protection have a scheme where supporters can receive emails with short videos featuring some of the cats helped by their contributions. I was asked to do some illustrations for a flyer promoting this scheme. Two versions are currently being tested against each other - one illustrative and one photographic - so it'll be interesting to see the results and if my illustrations were successful.
